    Speaking
While I sometimes get called a motivational speaker, motivation is really just one facet of my speaking. The core substance is about providing a new way of looking at things, combined with tools that enable attendees to take action and make an immediate impact on their lives.

I cover the full spectrum in my speaking, from how to figure out what career will light your fire to actually making it happen. The common foundation is my Occupational Adventure Guide model for passion pursuit/career development.

Following is a sample of some of the career-passion topics I address.

Planning for Passion
Igniting your passion today, tomorrow, and the rest of your career

Planning for Passion for Businesses
How to tap into the power of employee passion

Self-promotion for the Self-Employed
Dream it. Do it. Top tips for bringing the dream to life.

Here are what some of the people who have brought me in to speak have to say...

--

"Curt was a wonderful speaker! He had a very upbeat, enthusiastic presentation with an expanding, eye-opening point of view. He was a great catalyst for questioning, getting us to dig in for some self-examination. It was a real light bulb experience.

Curt was tuned in to the audience and really connected with us as he both asked and answered questions."

Polly Hopkins
Alliance of Technology and Women

--

"From beginning to end, Curt engaged us and got us thinking about what our careers could be, not just what they "should" be.

His humorous ways of driving points home and his high-energy, informal style encouraged enthusiastic audience participation. People started asking themselves questions about where they were in life, and came away with concrete next steps to take in their exploration.

And to top it all off - it was fun!!"

Kathryn Warren & Paige Dickson
President & Past-president
Association for Women in Computing

--

"Curt gave our members some things to think about, but more importantly, to do something about."

Kathi Jones
Executive Director, Microsoft Alumni Network

--

"Curt was a very popular addition to our Usability Professionals Association 2003 Conference. His highly interactive presentation on self-promotion was a breath of fresh air. He really de-mystified self-marketing, leaving us with a clear, actionable list of steps for marketing ourselves effectively."

Tamara Adlin
Speaker coordinator for the UPA 2003 Conference
